It's been nearly two weeks since I had my last shift at Disney and I figured one last blog post was in order.I learned a lot of things at Disney. It's a place I now call home, where I met people that I now call my family. Here's a bunch of random things I learned/discovered.
1. MK east side managers are the greatest.
2. Custodial isn't about cleaning it's about talking to guests.
3. In the Magic Kingdom whatever custodial side you're from is the best and the only one you'd dream of working in.
4. You work so often and for so long your coworkers are like family and the people you know you can turn to for ANYTHING.
5. but your pan and broom will always be your number one! Guard them with your life- people will try to steal them.
6. Custodians (on average) know the park better than most other cast members.
7. Know people in every park so they can make a "magical moment" and get you on whatever ride you want through the fast pass line.
8. Custodial break rooms are known as "little haiti" (especially MK east side pooh side) so we've taken over the attractions/merch/F&B hall way but it just means we've had the oppurtunity to meet soo many more people.
9. It gets scary how easily you can tell the difference between puke, spilled food, gum, blood etc.
10. People do ask stupid questions like where's Disney World, where's the castle (while standing in front of it), is this space mountain (pointing to the castle), is this area closed for the parade ( after reading a sign that says preparing for WISHES!), can we go over there (into the new fantasyland construction zone) etc.
11. Post Disney Depression is a real condition that many think they are immune to but sooner or later it gets everyone!

So I realized I kind of dissappeared but my last two weeks went by wayyyy to fast and I barely had time to check my email let along blog.
After my last post my dad came down and I spent 3 days with him before I had to work. It was nice to get to spend some time with him and as always it was nice to roam around the parks.
While he was down I had my graduation which was cool because I got free food, prizes and of course I finally earned my ears!!!!

This is my favourite picture of my entire 3 months.
My final week included working for 7 days in a row, hanging out at parks and with friends as much as possible, attempting to pack, avoiding packing and trying to figure out the best way to get a green card.
I also had planned on taking several pictures of my apartment and posting them so everyone could have an idea of where I lived but sadly I got to busy to do that so a picture of the outside of my first apartment will have to do.

Overall I loved my program and I've already applied to work at Disney again. I will probably have another blog to document that adventure but I'll give that to you when I start it/reveal it. Although I've applied for another ICP program I may also look into working on a Disney cruise or see what other adventures I can have. I'm still young so still have many adventures and oppurtunities ahead of me but either way I'm excited for the possibility of workin for the mouse again.

So the last couple days have been jam packed with fun an adventure. Tuesday I did some shopping for a couple souvenirs for myself as well as a couple family members and friends. I also went to Magic Kingdom and down to the Emporium where I had planned on buying most of the stuff however, they didn't have the one thing I really had hoped to get which was the LARGE Eeyore plush. However, they did have a couple of the shot glasses I wanted and a couple of the mugs. I still have to go back to the Hundred Acre Goods in Fantasyland to get my Eeyore. I've been eyeing it up since I got here so I cannot not get it.
Wednesday I was suppose to call off and go to the beach with my friends Rick and Gavin but we couldn't get a hold of Gavin so Rick and I gave up and I went to work. Work wasn't tooo bad I had Storybook for 6 hours total that night which was HORRID because storybook you're just constantly doing a trash run as it's one of the busiest icecream places and for half of my shift Friars Nook was open so two food and beverage locations plus a nut cart, popcorn cart and an ice cream cart makes it SUPER busy. But I managed to walk away alive so I'm happy.
Thursday I went to work and had Storybook for 5 hours total which I was not impresses with.
Friday morning I went to see Harry Potter at 10:45 with my friend Kelsey. I absolutely LOVED it. I now feel like a part of if not all of my childhood is over as I have nothing from that time to look forward to. All the movies and books are done. Harry is grown up which would imply that I am too. However I still have almost 2 weeks left here in Disney so at least for the next two weeks I'll still be a kid. Friday night I worked until 3 it was a 9.5 hour shift which means OVERTIME!!!!!
After work 7 of us went to Melbourne beach to watch the sunrise and swim in the ocean. The beach is about 1.5hrs away but it was welllll worth it. After we went to Dennys and then back home. By the time I got home it was 11ish and I worked at 2 so I got a half hour "nap", showered and went to work an 11hr shift. I was ABSOLUTELY exhausted as I had been up since early Friday morning. I was suppose to go to a going away party for a guy I know in the next building after work last night but when I got home I layed down for a second and then passed right out clothes on and all.
Last night was a really good night at work though because I ran into Mickey Mouse and we got to talking and he said he'd wave to me if I came to watch the Electric Parade last night so I told him where I was going to stand and then I ran over for the parade and we waved back and forth and blew kisses and drew hearts he even asked me to call him. For a good 2 minutes he was waving at JUST ME! And everyone in the crowd knew it. It was a really magical moment for me. Some of the guests looked at me weird but I explained that me and my boss are really tight. It just goes to show that the magic of Disney will never wear off. I've seen Mickey a million times but because he was waving to me and just me it truly made me feel really special and made me soooo happy.
Today I got my last schedule for the summer. I'm in fantasyland for 3 days then I end in restrooms. I'm going to ask to switch out my restrooms with streets though because I don't want to end my program in restrooms I know i'll want to be streets for my last shift. I'd prefer ending in Fantasyland but really I'd take Tomorrowland.
My dad is coming down today. I work from 10pm-4am so I'm going to meet him up bright and early at the hotel so that if he wants he can park hop (I have his ticket) while I nap or he can just lounge by the pool while I get more sleep. It stinks that he'll have to wait to hang with me at the parks but such is life I have the next 3 days off so we'll have plenty of time together.
Hopefully I'll be able to post within the week maybe put up some pics of the beach and such.

Today I met Peter Pan four times! Yes that's right four times! It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to Magic Kingdom with my firend Emily who's in attractions in Fan Land. She is also a Peter Pan FANATIC! The first time we didn't spend much time with him just kinda randomly went to see him. Then we got pixie dust and saw him again in the same set (characters do 20 on 20 off). It was really fun and we were joking around with him and spent like 5-10 mins with him it was pretty cool. Then we headed off did some rides and got even MORE pixie dust (yes I am still covered even after working and taking a shower and changing 3 times). We decided to go back and harass Peter Pan some more and do some fun poses and such with him. He made us honorary lost boys which was amazing. We then asked him to do a pose he normally doesn't do with people and he couldn't think of one off the bat so he asked us to come back at 510 when he was done all his sets for the day. We agreed and even pinky promised. So 510 roles around and we are last in line to see him AGAIN (the 4th time) and we play follow the leader and jump around over the sword and the stone and take a picture with him there. Peter visits the sword and the stone on occasion but to actually get a picture with him there is rare and super cool. We then went backstage to calm down from all the excitement and Peter saw us laughed/had a huge smiled winked and then dissappeared. It truly was one of the most amazing character interactions I have EVER had in my entire life.
Below are some pictures.

EMily and I also went on Dumbo, Peter Pan, PhillharMagic, Tea Cups and Pooh all without a wait. Being a cast member sure has its benefits sometimes especially when you're playing at the park you work in.

So I'm getting slightly homesick. I love it here but I'm really looking forward to going home. 3 weeks and at this time I'll be on a plane ride home. I haven't done anything tooo interesting lately.
A couple work friends and I attempted to the kitchen sink which still makes me sick to think about. It was an epic fail but at least we tried. For those of you who dont know the kitchen sink is 12 scoops of ice cream, a can of whip cream, a bunch of brownies, some angel food cake, oreos, random other topppings and a bunch of sauces. All of that goes in a big bowl that looks like a kitchen sink. It was good at first but then after awhile it was just too much sugar.
I've been busy working and it's been busy raining a lot which makes my job easier. I got to see 4th of July fireworks twice!!! On the 3rd then the 4th. They were AMAZING!!!!! They were perimeter fireworks meaning there was 20+ firework set off zones. It was soooo cool and I'm so glad I got to experience being at MK on the 4th. It was a little crazy off and on but really it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be.
But overall I've made some great friends and done some amazing things and I'm really considering coming back next year. But we'll take one step at a time one summer at a time gotta finish this summer first.

Universally Speaking
So today I betrayed the Walt Disney company and I went to Universal Islands of Adventure. Man was it ever fun! I went with Alex (my roommate), Rick and his roomie Kevin. Right off the bat we went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and went on the Forbidden Journey. Now I was really worried that I wasn't going to be able to ride any rides since I'm on the bigger side of life and I know Universal doesn't cater much to the larger crowd. But I got on! First they take you through the castle and you get to see everything and it's sooo neat. then you get on the ride it was a tight squeeze but definitaly worth it! Our line was probably a good 45 minutes but because Alex hadn't met Rick or Kevin before and I hadn't met Kevin before we were able to talk a lot get to know each other and just overall have a good time.
Then we went to the wand shop which was really cool. I didn't buy a wand but was definitaly tempted to. Throughout the day we also went on two of the water rides- Popeye and Jurassic Park the third water ride Dudley was closed. I went on the Hulk which is probably my second favourite coaster of all time now! It's amazing I'm soooo glad I talked myself onto going on it. We also went on Dueling Dragons.
Originally when we got in line for it (only a 10min wait) it was sunny and nice out. When we got on the ride it was POURING rain it was soo intense and amazing in the pouring rain. The best part was we had just managed to get dry from the water rides. We went to go on it again because it was soooo much fun but they had to shut it down temporarily due to the weather. We then decided to head home as it was 4 and none of us had really gotten much sleep especially Rick who didn't get any.
Today was definitaly one of the best days I've had while down here. It may of poured rain but I went on coaster I never thought I'd ever go on and overall just had a good time with some good people.
Now I'm ready to pass out and watch some T.V
But just to give you a small update like always work is fun and I love it! I had a good day yesterday as well on my other day off it rained most of the day but I treated myself to a movie and went to Mk, DTD, Contemporary, Port Orleans. So a few errands and some fun as I pin traded along the way and managed to get some character pictures.

So my mum and sister were down. It was pretty great. Ate lots and lots and lots of food - pretty sure I gained back half the weight I lost while down here. But it was nice not to have to pay for my own food or anything for an entire week! Sometimes it's the small things in life like not paying for food that can make you happy.
We had several different character dinners and such and went to the hoop-di-do musical revue which was a super corny but cute musical dinner show.
I spent everyday but thursday with them. Thursday I was exhausted from work so I slept at the hotel while they went to Blizzard Beach and Downtown. I also had to work while they were down which was exhausting for me because I work until the weeeee hours of the morning and then they wanted to make the most of their days and I wanted to see them so we'd head out first thing in the morning or I'd head over to their hotel first thing in the morning. However, no day was more exhausting then yesterday. Sunday I got home at 330/4ish (in the morning) then left my house at 7am. Met up with them so we could head over to Magic Kingdom and then I literally RAN all the way down mainstreet to where repunzel resides so that Mandie could meet Repunzel. I knew if she didn't her trip wouldn't be complete. We ended up being the fourth or so family in line which is rather impressive because numerous other people RUN in to get over there.
Honestly the week went by waaaaaaaaaaaay to fast and I can barely remember most of it. But here are some pics

OH! And the best part was eating at Cinderella's Royal Table which is inside the castle. We were eating during the firework spectacular- wishes. It was sooo amazing. The food was delicious and we got to see all the princesses and got swords and wands and it was just overall sooooooo magical. By far the best part of mum and Mandie's vacation.

My mom and my sister are here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I realize it's been a week since I've posted but I worked weds-monday. Then my mom and sister came down on tuesday so I've been a little preoccupied. It's nice to have them down. It's throwing my whole system and life out of whack but it's good to see them and hug my mom and such. It's also nice to sleep at the resort a night or two. Granted I can't tell which bed is better mine or the one at the resort. I'm definitaly enjoying playing the part of the tour guide. Today I didn't actually do anything with them. I haven't been feeling all the great this past week because I have a sore throat. So I woke up and they wanted to go to Blizzard Beach then Disney Quest but I just wanted to sleep so they went along their merry way. I can't get them into either of those for free or discounted so I was more useful in bed.
I could recount our days but I feel that that may get slightly boring. Overall though I'm loving it here, have made tons of new friends (I'm really starting to believe that thing about making friends that will last a life time down here) and I'm seriously thinking of applying for a second program.

Today was the day of a million characters! It was AMAZING. Alex and I went to Blizzard Beach in the morning and it was fun I went on Summit Plummet which wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I also went on my favourite one but I can't remember it's name.
Then we went to Hollywood Studios which I always love because it has Rock N Rollercoaster ... man do I love that ride! We went on it twice (single rider both times). I ended up sitting in the same seat twice which was cool as I was sitting towards the back which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. Then we saw several characters. By several characters I mean I got 15 or 16. Originally we only have bout 6 or 7 then we were told that if we came back to the one location around 4:50 then there'd be some characters dropping in. There were 4 groups of characters and then they'd all switch and another 4 groups came out. It was A-Mazing.
Afterwards I went to the Vista Way welcome pool party- free food, free beverages, prizes and characters. Afterwards was a Wal-Mart trip with some of the roomies.
Tonight I also reserved a hotel for my father for when he comes down.. exciting! Means more character meals, another person to send stuff home with, some daddy daughter time, and someone to tell random facts to about the parks who has yet to hear them.
Later might go to Denny's with a couple of my roomies but whoever really knows.
But because I know you miss seeing me here are some pics.

On Saturday I went to MK with custodial people/friends. We had a great time went on Pirates, walked around, went on Winnie the Pooh, saw PhillharMagic we also went on space mountain... I LOVE space mountain. It's not my favourite rollercoaster but it never gets old for me. The wait was 70 minutes so we talked to the person at the fast pass line and flashed our cast ID so we got fast passes.
Worked on saturday night overall uneventful like always. Then came home and partied next door until the very very very wee hours of the morning. Alex and I ended up coming home as my roomate was leaving for work. But it was wellll worth it. Made a few new friends and random connections which was cool. I got 3 hours of sleep then had to go to work. I ERd from work as I was exhausted and the second half of my shift was going to be at Castle restrooms which is pointless as there is only 3 stalls.
Last night went back over to the place had some fun again then came home and passed out. Currently I'm working on scheduling some dinners/lunches for when my sister and mum come to visit. I'm also attempting to give away a couple shifts. One was denied but apparently I can get a manager to override it so I'm going to work on that tonight. Basically next week I'm going to end up working all of like 3 days and only 24 hrs but really as long as I can make rent mum will be here to pay for all my food so it doesn't really matter if I have food.
Overall I'm loving this place and loving this job. I'm really thinking of applying again because although I have no money doing this it's such a great experience and I now have friends from Switzerland, Australia, all over the US, the UK and all over Canada. It's AMAZZZZZZZZZZZING. Now if I ever want to travel I have places to stay and tour guides. I need to make some German friends as I REALLLY REALLLY want to go to germany. My friend from home Jade used to have family who lived in Germany but I think they all moved to Switzerland this year.
One thing I don't understand is everyone's obsesion about the Casey Anthony trial. My roomates are currently watching it and whenever I go into work they're watching it at work. I just don't understand what the hell is the big deal??? People are crappy parents and if they're just figuring this out now they clearly need to get out more. As well the death penalty?? Really... don't even get me started.

I just don't understand what the hell is the big deal??? People are crappy parents and if they're just figuring this out now they clearly need to get out more. As well the death penalty?? Really... don't even get me started.

I've moved!!! It took like 2 weeks of paper work but I moved. I'm not living in the same apt as my friend Alex. My new roomate is Synthia she leaves in 1.5 weeks or so and then eventually we'll get a new roomate. Other new roomates include Andrea (she rooms with Alex) then Laurie and Stephanie in the back room. It'll be weird getting used to how some things are done here but overall I think it'll be good for me. Or at least better than where I was living. We have a T.V so I'm super excited about that it means I'll be watching the Disney Channel 24/7. I still have to buy a router off of male Alex because the crappy part of this apartment is that it doesn't have wireless which I feel is an essential.
Work has been okay at one point yesterday I had 3 washrooms - Enchanted Grove, Cosmics and Castle. Castle and E-Grove almost always go together and its one of the only female restroom cases where you get 2. Bur normally if you have cosmics you just have cosmics. Luckily it wasn't too busy as castle closed early (before 10). Then cosmics closed before park close (at 1) so I could close those both up and then just hang out and do nothing for a while until I had to close E-Grove at 2.
I haven't really done out and done anything exciting. I'm suppose to hang out with some custodial people before work today but we'll see if that happens. If not I hear the pool and sun calling my name.

So it's almost been a week and I have not blogged... I'm sorry but such is life here in Disney.
Work's been okay. I had restrooms on Sunday and Monday and will have them again today. I don't really mind them because honestly you make sure its clean then go to your stock room or step out of the restroom and talk to people who are sitting around it. I went to Epcot on Tuesday which was fun. I did mission space which I loved and then we got a text from male Alex saying he could get us fast passes for soarin if we ran to where he was. So we literally ran from mission to soarin which is a decent distance and we JUST missed him however he got someone at the gate to let us in which was pretty cool. I also went to Mexico and got a couple character pictures while a Epcot. Afterwards I headed over to MK. I hung out with some work friends while they worked which was cool. Got to see wishes and the electric light parade. Went on the Pooh ride, Snow White ride, the carousel and the tea cups all without lines which was amazing.
Wednesday was suppose to be AK with custodial peeps however it stormed most of the morning so we didn't go. Instead I hung out with my work friend Connie we went to Chick Fil A and Wal-Mart then over to her place to watch Tower of Terror. Then I was suppose to go to Buffalo Wild Wings (weds nights are BDubs nights for CPs). But by the time my one roomate came back it was too late and we wouldn't of had any time there so we went to a small gathering at someones house had fun and some guy cooked for us which was sweet. And he said to just text him every day to see if hes cooking and we can come over. He's in culinary so he enjoys cooking for people and such.
Overall my life isn't as exciting as you'd think it was for living and working at Disney. But I'm having fun and enjoying myself. I'm excited to go home and see my pups and my bed but only 59 more days!

1 month review
So I've been here an entire month!!!!!! That's sooo hard to believe. But I'm still loving it. I love my job, I love most of the people, I love my days off I just love this place.
Since I don't have much new to report I figure I'd do a little bit of a photo update... an up till now 1 month review.

The all important name tag.

Me and my idol. This was the first character picture I got in the parks and my favourite so far. I love Peter Pan so I was super excited to get this one

Our first night before we had access to the parks we went to the Poly and watched fireworks from the beach. It was magical.

My first upside down roller coaster EVER! And i lovedddddddddddddd it. This is by far one of my favourite roller coasters/rides at Disney.

This is on expedition everest. It's my second favourite ride at Disney. It's really cool and you can actually see all the parks at one time at the top of it. It's pretty cool.

I just love this one of Alex, Laurie, Synthia and I because they're all scared and I'm laughing.

My day off on Wednesday was fantastic. Went to AK in the morning with Alex and two of her roomies Synthia and Laurie. We had a lot of fun. Went on the safari, dinosaur and everest. Then we went to Applebees. It was horrible the food itself wasn't all that bad but it was the service that was aboslutely HORRRIBLE!!!!!
After applebees was time for naps before going to MK. MK was fun just went on a couple of rides. Including the tea cup ride- sooo amazing. I love the tea cup ride. We also went to cast connection (the cheap merch place). Alex and I got matching sweatshirts that say 2011 and what not. They're actually really nice. Regularly about $50 got them for $10. I also got a watch for $8. And a couple other things but those were my 2 favs of the day.
I've also discovered that although custodial is the easiest job by far it is possibly the worst as well because at times we are sooooo hard working. Yesterday I had pan zone which is super easy 9 trash cans that aren't very busy. Then around 930 I get a call saying I'm going to be picking up it's a small world. Which is bad either as it's about 13 cans. Then as I'm doing a pre-close trash run I get a call saying that there's a code V in the line for it's a small world. I look all through it and nothing so I start to leave but I get another call that there's a code yellow on one of the boats. So I have to wait for that boat to go all the way around and then clean it up. Which honestly wasn't all that bad. But then I'm on my way to go dump trash and I get a call to come sign back in (in order for me to pick up small world they had to bump me out of pan so i could pick them up together). So I say I will after dumping trash. Then I get another call from a different person (my two managers) asking if I'm going to come push water. I explain that I've just done a false code V, a code yellow, a trash run and need to sign back in but I'll be right there. Then I get yet another call from the first person (my coordinator) telling me to self break.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that they all wanted me to do a million different things all at once and they weren't communicating with each other. which was beyond frusterating. At one point I didn't even want to answer my radio anymore. The thing was driving me insane. As well apparently there's this secret trash can in the pan line that isn't on our list of cans. So at the end of the night a friend and a coordinator showed it to me and wouldn't you know it's overflowing. But luckily I didn't get in trouble because I honestly didn't know it existed and since it wasn't on the list its really not my fault.
I work again today but I think it's only a 7 hour shift so not bad. Currently though I'm waiting for a phone call telling me whether I'll be going to Seattle in August. And man is the wait killing me. 23 more minutes... I just need to know either way.
After my phone call I'll grab some food run to walgreens and go for a swim. This is th part of my life that makes the sore feet, long hours and lack of sleep all worth while.

Life's been pretty great lately.
Sunday's shift was a joke. So easy and I literally did nothing. Custodial is honestly such an amazing position. Yes there are times we're out in the boiling sun and dealing with vomit and pee and whatever else but we get soo much free time and slack to do what we want. As well all the CPs are amazing most of us get along great and it's such an amazing experience.
Monday's shift I don't reeally remember I did fantasyland and most of the CPs were over in tomorrow land so that stunk. But the beginning of my shift started with Basics training which was a 2 hour course on the Disney Basics. It was pretty straight forward and didn't really involved any work. I actually don't tend to mind training because you get paid for it and often you just sit in a classroom doing nothing.
After work I went out with Alex (x2) and Jackie(Male Alex's "friend"). We went to steak and shake at 2am. Sat there for a couple of hours then drove around Disney property listening to music until after 4am. Now you might be asking if that was a wise choice on my part and yes, yes it was. This program is so short and you need to live it up while you can. Yes it meant I was super tired toda, it also meant i got very little done this morning because I was sleeping but that's okay with me.
Today's shift I was in Tomorrowland and the CPs were split pretty evenly which was cool. I had launching pad which sucks on nights when the park closes early because it stays open the entire time. On nights the park closes late it eventually closes and people stop buying food. But today I'd do a trash run with a 6 liner and then just have to do another. It was honestly never ending. However, I did get another great service card which was cool. My manager liked that I was using a 6 liner for launching pad rather than a double dolley.
Work ended at 10 which was super nice because it meant I was home around 11. Was able to call my ma on the bus ride home and then was able to go in the pool for a couple hours before it closed. Tomorrow is my day off and I think female Alex wants to go to AK, then in the afternoon I'm going to hit up MK because there's a safety appreciation thing for custodial members where I get free food. Then at night if I'd like there's a movie playing at Philhar for fantasyland attractions and east custodial. Which involves more free stuff. But who knows here days are unpredictable and you can plan and plan and plan but things change.

I just got my schedule for next week and I have two days off!!! I'm excited to have two days off.. the only down fall is that I'm on restrooms almost everyday as well I have one day shift.. bah!! Now day shifts aren't bad because it means I'm not closing but it means my system gets all out of wack because then I go back to closing. I just wish i'd stay at closing. Closing isn't bad heck half the time I get to ER.I got to ER last night which was nice about an hour early but man did I appreciate it!!! It wasn't that it was a long shift rather just a hot tiring one where I thought they were trying to kill me for part of it.
It started with me breaking people and tasking (like taking pics on fantasyland bridge). However, on my way to task my manager stopped me and asked me to do all the over flowing cans in speedway. Speedway had been dropped for most of the days so alll the cans were fulllll. I took out a double liner and had to bring it back to the avec every 2 trash cans. It took forever!!!!!!!! I didn't even finish when the person who got moved to speedway came back over 30 mins later. Granted I did get all but 3.
Then I got moved to launching pad after someone was done for the day. I was told by her that she had just done all the garbage... ya NO!!!!!! It was definitaly not done as most of the cans were at least half full when I went out there. So I took the 6 liner that is motor operated out (it's often used for this zone since it's a food zone). So I did that and then finally after being at work for 3 hours I got my lunch break which I was thankful for as I was a hot sweaty mess. Then after lunch my cans were full again so I did another 6 liner run. Then the zone was dead so I just wandered around and talked to people. Eventually I got moved to another zone and the busser from launch pad got trasher as well. I got moved to cosmics which is normally hell but the guy before me had just closed it out. I had to re close part of it as some people were still eating but it was okay.
I also got a package in the mail from my mumma! I had to sign some tax forms but she sent up some more tank tops for me(yay for doing laundry less). And she also sent some crystal light and my Emergen-C that I forgot at home. There were also Oreos which was the odd find in there but care packages are suppose to have cookies os it kind of makes sense. There was also money from my grandma (I think she's worried I'm not eating or getting paid enought...)
I also have been soaking up the sun everyday which is another reason why I love late shifts... most people would say you have all day to explore parks but me I say you have all day to swim. I like to save parks for my days off if I do it on a non-day off then I'm just wearing out my feet before I even start...

ER
I've decided that my favourite two letters in the world are ER. By ER I do not mean the long running hit T.V show, nor do I mean that place at the hospital. What I mean is Early Release. I love it.
Today i was put on Fantasylang Phillhar zone... it was pretty easy and overall pretty boring. I've decided I like tomorrowland better. Mostly because there's always something happening in the breka room but in Fantasy land it's always dead and boring, which makes breaks a little less fun and a lot more boring.
I got to push water today for the first time. Which is basically as it sounds using a squeegee to push water towards drains. A certain part of fantasyland is always roped off during fireworks due to debris and what not. The tops of all the roofs also have sprinkler systems that make them what incase anything is to fall so that there is not a fire. Which means that after fireworks the streets are full of puddles which is very unsafe and not very classy and magical.
After pushing water then closing i went over to our meeting area (we meet 30mins after park closes) and the closing manager asked if anyone wanted to be ERd and all but like 3 did so we got to go home early. Only 30 mins or so but hey beats another 30mins on my feet. (Which by the way are like so sore they're twitching and stuff right now).
On the way home we PACKED a bus. I was the last one on thankfully but it also meant I stood the entire way back which stunk but hey I was home before 1am so I'm trying not to complain toooo much.
My breaks and such at work were all weird which is why my feet hurt more than normal. I got my lunch after 1.5 hrs. then 1.5hrs after that my break so then I had 3.5 hrs of standing on my feet in a row. I figured it would of been 2. 2 2.5 to make it a bit more even but apparently not today.
This morning I didn't really do anything, I did laundry so now I have clean underwear once again! I also have clean tank tops. I went to walgreens as I was out of milk and craving it. It's a pretty cool store. My favourite part is a part where you can make your own flavoured pop. You take a traditional flavour like pepsi or coke and can put shots of lime, raspberry, cherry or vanilla. You could also mix and match these as much or as little as you want and mix and match like coke+spirte with 3 shots vanilla and 2 lime. For someone who is addicted to coke this is an amazing find for me. I put lots of lime and some vanilla in mine. Despite putting a TON of lime in the vanilla over powered it a bit so I'll have to work on my ratio throughout the summer.
Besides milk i bought a frozen pizza (part of which i had for lunch then dinner), klondike bars and KD. the pizza was my first frozen food since I've been here so I'm kinda proud about that. I'm also super excited about the klondike bars as they remind me of my grandma who always used to have a ton stocked up in her basement for when me and my sister and cousins came over. They are sooo yummy. Well worth the money.
Tomorrow I have my first 6 hr shift so that'll be fun (I hope/think) but it also means that I should get some sleep.
May all your wishes come true!!!!!!!!

This is a long one- you are warned
So Tuesday was yesterday.. I think! I'm really not quite sure anymore.
Monday night was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I worked for 8hrs which as usual stunk. I was on gravity so basically right outside the ice cream shop. that was no fun because people spill their ice cream like crazy... so for the first half of my shift from like 3-6 I was cleaning up ice cream spills and doing trash and cleaning and just felt like I couldn't catch up. But after about 7 or 8 the Park got dead quite and I was running out of things to do and was suuuuuuuuper bored. It's like I can't win either super busy or super bored. I couldn't even pay a guest to talk to me it was that dead in the park.
After work Abbey and I were talking about McDonalds with a couple of our coworkers and got a hankering for it so she drove to McDonalds and that's where the true story begins. We were exhausted as it was close to 1am at this point so we were giggly and weren't making much sense when we ordered and our cashier was dancing and just making fun of us. We started chatting with him and he seemed like a nice guy. We got out food and sat down then he joined us while on his lunch break. Then after like 20 minutes or so I realize he is slowly hitting on both of us at once. And kept dropping hints that he like vanilla better than chocolate. Aka he likes white girls! (Abbey and I are both white girls). He eventually had to go to back to work so he wrote down his number and was like put it in your phone and message me etc. However, he had a different phone at the time cuz his was at his ex's house so he was using a friends wife's phone and it was super complicated so he gave us two numbers. We then ordered dessert (I got mine for free do to a technicality in a promotion.. muahahahahaha he upsized it though and put extra peanutbutter cups in my mcflurry!). He then kept hitting on us and was like text me anytime, call me. I look forward to hearing from you. Come in anytime I work this day this day this day.
It was really random and just super funny because I've talked to people about it since and apparently he hits on a lot of white girls that go in there. It's just funny because he's so obvious about it and not all that smooth. It was just odd and not what i was expecting at 1am on a monday night/tuesday morning. Eventually I got back home like 2 hrs after my shift and went to bed because I had to get up eaaaaaaaaaaaaarly in the morning.
The morning was our Social Security appointment. It was easy and apparently we can pick up our card in like 2-4 weeks. On our way back our bus broke down and we waited at teh side of teh road for like 40 minutes. It sucked!!!!!!!! But eventually another one came and a mechanic we got to the other side of the road so we could unload not into 4 lane highway traffic. Afterwards it was nap time for me. As I was exhausted from work and the early 5am wake up!
Alex (F- Female) and I went to Magic Kingdom at like 2 but first was a trip to Cast Connection and property control. I got a cute bandana for Katie's dog Bailey and a Piglet for myself. All for under $6. The Piglet is normally like $20 so I was excited to get it cheap.
At 6 we met up with Katie, Chris, Sheila, Ashley and Kyle. Sheila took the kids and went on kiddie rides while Katie, Chris (the kids dad), Alex and I did haunted mansion, space mountain, and splash mountain. Overall it was a really fun day. I did all 3 mountains at MK. Then we all met back up and watched Wishes. Which was as always super magical and amazing.
I went home and slept like a baby. It was beautiful.
Today I had yet another housing meeting! BAHHHH but things are finally figured out and I am super happy about them. (more info to come soon) Then I went to blizzard and met Katie, the kids, Sheila and Chris. We had lots of fun went on the family ride several times, did the racing water slides, and other water slides. I had soo much fun. It was also just great to hang out with Katie. Like this little refreshing burst of home here in Florida.
I left just as they were doing the lazy river. I went home to Vista hung up my bathin suit grabbed my camera and made a mad dash to the bus so that I could meet Alex (F) up. She had been there for a couple hours with another friend Kelly but Kelly left just as we got there. I went on Tower or Terror (ToT) for the first time ever. And LOVED LOVED it. It wasn't quite as scary as I had been expecting or as good but I had super high expectations for it so really anything would be a let down. Then we went on Rock n Rollercoaster. Which was amazing. It was my first upside down roller coaster ever! And I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ended up going on twice today. We also saw the little mermaid show. I was slightly dissappointed with it. Mostly because I didn't like the face character of Ariel. But I'm just picky. We did the Narnia show which was the biggest dissapointment ever! However, we did get to see props from the movie which was cool since I love the narnia movies. We also learned how to draw mickey and wandered around the shops.
Overall I'm having a great time. I miss home but mostly things like my dogs, my tigger pillow, hanging out with my friends. I work for the next 6 days which should be fairly interesting. Sunday I work until 4am! Which means i won't get home until 5ish depending on how full the buses are. I'm going to try to get early release but if not maybe Abbey with drive me home!?!?!
The other major thinging happening right now is that my mom and sister booked their plane and then i booked their hotel for them to come visit me. This is exciting as we haven't really gone on any vacation in quite some time. It's also exciting because the 3 of us haven't spent that much time together these last two years now that neither my sister or I live at home. But the Armstrong women are taking over Disney and it will be epic!!!!!!!
Hopefully I'll post soon with new adventures and stories.
TTFN! TaTa For Now!
I got ER'd yesterday (Early Release!) The park was open till 2 but was dead by 130 so i started closing and was done by about 215 so my manager asked if I wanted to go and boy did I! Closing is basically emptying out all the liners (trash cans)into one liner and you have a second liner with neutralizer in it. Pour that into the liner you just emptied and swap with the one that just had neutralizer. So basically you just keep swapping liners. It sounds kind of complicated but really it's not and I'm just bad at explaining things. Overall my shift wasn't too bad yesterday. Was on the coolship zone- the one right next to space mountain zone.
When I got there all my cans were half full so it took me forever to do my first run+ I still had to find a bunch of the cans. I had to keep going back and forth from the dumpster. But apparently it's normal for the day shift to fall wayyyy behind or for them not to do their jobs properly. That's why they have all the youngins who are petrified of losing their job/being termed and losing the program closing so we actually do it right.
At night it's mostly all college program people which is nice because it means we're all around the same age and it's fun to just chat and what not.
This morning I had a meeting with housing to discuss a few things I had questions about. It was at 10am... BOOOOO which meant I only go about 5 hrs of sleep. I also have to leave for work in about an hour. I start at 315. but hopefully I'll see Katie walking around somewhere and get to see her for a while. I work until midnight then up bright and early to get my social security number. But on the upside I'm off the next two days so I can catch up on my sleep!

I am absolutely exhausted and it only gets worse from here! I worked until 2am last night. Got home around 3 took a shower (as I felt completely filthy). Then went to bed. My first shift alone wasn't bad. It took me waaaaaaay to long to do my first trash run but as I get to know the zones it'll get better. As the night went on I got faster at my run and had plenty of time to just wander around and sweep up things, talk to people etc.
With this job I don't think it's the work that's going to kill me, rather the hours and standing on my feet. Today I work until 3 which means I won't get home until 4. Which if you ask me SUCKS!!!!!! Luckily I have two days off coming up. However, next week I only have one day off.
My schedule for next week stinks. I'm not happy with it AT ALL. But it appears that most people only have one day off but out of everyone I've talked to I have the most hours and the latest days. Here's a look at my schedule ---

But I guess money is money. After all I do have rent, food, fun and a phone to pay for while here.

Let's start where I left off.
Yesterday went to Epcot in the afternoon/evening. Didn't really do much went on Test Track and walked around. Saw the Canadian movie at the Canadian pavillion and then the France one at the France pavillion. Also did the finding nemo ride it was cute and then did Crush Talk which is another interactive movie type thing similar to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. It was cute. Finally we came home. I went out by the pool and talked to my mumma on the phone which was A) much needed and B) super amazing.
Today I did Typhoon with Female Alex first thing in the morning. We got done all the slides (minus one for me)and such even did the swimming with the sharks reef thing. I didn't do the the one slide because the one prior to that when it got to the end I got a lot of water into me and had difficulty breathing. Which SUCKED! So i just needed the next one to catch my breathe and feel normal. But overall a great experience. Then we did the wave pool, lazy river and wave pool.
Came home and Male Alex wasn't feeling so great so we went to check on him. He's sick we're hoping it's nothing serious and will go away fast. Then I went to the Commons (main office at a different complex) to discuss some things but they were closed so I just went to Walmart and spent half my paycheck getting groceries! But hopefully I'll be stocked up for a while. Got lots of yummy stuff like freezies, chips, bananas, oranges, celery, lettuce, dressing, relish, sausages, bagels... mmmmmmmm
Tonight I think I shall just hang by the pool and read a bit. But who knows what life holds! I'll probably go check on male alex again make sure he doesn't need anything (I'm so damn mothering!).
Tomorrow I work my first night time shift and shift alone (as I've said several times before) but wish me luck!!!

So today is my Saturday!!!!!! Aka this is my weekend right now. And as weekends go so far it's gone well. Went to Blizzard with some of the roomies and had fun this morning and I think we're going to Epcot after.
I finally finished my assessment which was cool and got extended yesterday because of the assessment running late. (Yay for more money!!!!!!)
Today is also the first pay day! And It seems like I've made more money than a lot of my roomies which is surprising but I did do traditions for 4.5hrs then worked 2 8 hr days on Friday Saturday of last week. Most people had two days off between traditions and their training.
I'm excited for yet dreading my Saturday shift. Up and working until past 2am... thats a VERY new thing for me but hopefully it won't be too bad. It's also the fist time I'll have my own zone which makes me nervous as I'll be solely responisble for either the bathrooms in that zone or all the garbage cans and streets in that zone. However, I still have my little red tag under my nametag that says "Earning my ears". It's basically a get out of jail free card for the next week or so. On Saturday I also get my Pins for pin trading. I can't wait to start pin trading. I have pins from my last time here but those aren't even in circulation anymore as they are the Tarzan ones.. i'm keeping them aside and not putting them out as I have the whole set.
Overall not much has been going on just training, assessment and playing at the parks. Theres been a little bit of drama here and there with friends and roomies and friends roomies. But I think those things are to be expected when everyone works and lives so closely together. It's very similar to a camp atmosphere as time seems to go sooooooooo slow yet soooo fast all at the same time. But I guess that's just another part of the magic.

So I really haven't done anything note worthy lately!
I've had two days of training. the frist was Streets training in which we learned how to do trash/recycle runs, sweep, bus tables, "open" (clean water fountains and such). We also did parade cleanup which was amazing we got to use these huge vaccumm things again.
Yesterday was another 8 hr training day we learned how to do bathrooms! Man for a theme park those bathrooms are ssssssssssupppper clean. It really emphasis that custodial is not about cleaning but rather maintaining cleanliness. Yeh there are a couple areas that got a little dirty but overall it wasn't bad. I didn't hate bathrooms as much as I thought I would.
When I came home last night I skyped with Jordan which made me happy. Being here really makes me miss my boys back home. But we had a nice chat talking abuot everything and anything.
This morning was my day to sleep in a bit but my roomis alarm kept going off so i didn't get to sleep as much as I wanted. That and my body is used to being up at the crack of dawn. So that kinda stunk! Now i'm just killing time before I have to go to work. (leave at 940 to be there for an 11 shift).
Busses suck. You will read it everywhere. It just takes forever to get anywhere and some of the bus drivers are crazy. But talk to people on the bus and you'll be making friends in no time.
I have my assessment today which makes me a little nervous as I dont know what to expect. As well it means soon i'll be on my own!!!! Bahhhh i don't even know where all the different zones are or where the trash is in zones. I also don't know how to use the tunnels all that well yet. They're sooo big and confusinggggg! But hopefully I'll figure it out sooooooooon.
Tomorrow I have a day off. I am undecided what I'm going to do. A couple of my roomies have the day off too. We were thinking Blizzard Beach but I also really want to do a park. Soooo I don't know. That and male Alex has the day off and I haven't seen him in forever!! So i kinda want to see him tomorrow at some point.
Friday I have another day off and in the morning i"m going to Typhoon with female alex before she has to go to work. That'll be fun so i'm excited. I haven't seen her in a while either... Everyone just has such different schedules and even if we're all home at the same time we're alll exhuasted and don't want to get out of our beds or off our couches.
Next week I have all night shifts.. I'm not sure whether I've said this before but I'm somewhat excited so we'll see! It just means readjusting my sleep cycle to them which could potentially be a pain in my butt!
Hopefully soon I'll have something exciting and fun to tell you!
Until then may all your dreams come true!

Man! I'm sorry everyone. It's been like 5 days since I last blogged. such things are unaccepatable. But if you were here you'd understand... it's crazy here. soo much training. Traditions, magic kingdom training, custodial training, online training. It's alll bahhhhhhhh so long and so much information.
there's been A LOT of ups and downs. And to be truthfully honest a lot of downs. I guess it's my anxiety coming out but I'm just nervous about starting and what to expect.
Today was my first day in costume. It was actually pretty chill and not bad at all! We spent the majority of the morning doing online modules! Be prepared you will do ALOT of them. So far I've done 10 or so. Some seem pointless and others even worse!!!!! Really just click next as fast as possible or at least that's pretty much what I did.
We also did some behind the scenes touring of MK. Which was cool like some of the cast break rooms, where all of the custodial areas/storage. It was pretty cool. I also got to do parade cleanup with these giant vaccum things which normally requires a lot of training first but they were short so me and two of the people i was training with (abbey and carlos) got to do a quick 2 minute demo then did it! It was trally cool you got to just use it like a lawnmower and pretend to run over geusts.
Tomorrow I start real training- streets. Tuesday is bathrooms. I'm not looking forward to bathrooms as much. But apparently I'm in East- so Tomorrow and Fantasy land. According to the map there are only like 4 or 5 bathroom locations between the two which means I've be floating between 2 or 3 bathrooms all day and jsut chilling out which doesn't sound TOOOO bad. But hey who knows.
I'm really here for the experience work is just a formality. I'll make the best of it. I'm also exciteed a bit for next week because I work nights which means not as much time out in the hotttt florida sun. But it means working until 2 or 3 am sometimes. So we'll see!

Time goes by sooooo fast here. I can't even believe it! Today (Wednesday) was a FANTASTIC, AMAZING day. But first i'll recap yesterday.
Long day of boring training. By long I mean like 3 hours which is not bad at all. Just paperwork and housing IDs. Then I took a nap (nap often and enjoy never feel guilty about them is one thing I've started to learn and embrace here). It was a fantastic nap woke up and went to Downtown Disney - DTD with male Alex and some other friends. We had a blast. Below is a pic of all us eating at T-Rex. Which is good but really just another Rain Forest Cafe (so priceyish $15-25 per meal salads were $15....).

Also I love DTD it was a lot of fun. We even did this Dance Party thing they have and of course not only were all the Canadian guests the most vocal and excited we also participated the most. there were 3 of us who went up and danced to the chacha slide. It was ridiculous but it's so nice at Disney you can just cut loose and have fun without fear of being judged.
It was then an early night back to the house for a good night sleep so that we could all go to TRADITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Traditions was good started off super boring- I almost fell asleep several times but once the real presenters took over it livened up a bit which was nice. It was mostly just company history, policy and guidelines but I felt I learned a fair bit of random information and some things I can take into other workplaces. I and all my roomates were super nervous about our outfits. I think this is one area everyone panic abouts but when it gets down to it it actually isn't that big of a deal. I didn't notice anyone looking at me to make sure I was Disney look. But then again Disney is very efficent and might of been able to do theses things without me noticing.
After a lot of presenting we went backstage at the Magic Kingdom - MK, which was a great experience and didn't really ruin the magic for me but I can see how it would forever--- headless woody anyone?
I went back to the apartment afterwards to grab some food, tylenol and a nap. I only ended up eating and sitting on facebook not nap for me. Which explains why I'm literally falling asleep as I write this. So i'm sorry for spelling errors. After attempted naps and such male Alex and I headed over to MK to meet female Alex. We went on a couple rides and I had a BLAST! I can't wait to go again.
The highlight thus far for me has go to be meeting PETER PAN at MK today. I was sooo giddy and excited when I saw him and it definitaly shows in the photo-

Eventually we got Ice Cream and headed home. The monorail had some problems but after the transit center we caught out bus back home at almost the perfect time. I came back home organized, called my grandma then went out to the pool area called my mom for over an hour and am now ready for bed after a large time facebooking.
Tomorrow- Animal Kingdom, Typhoon, dinner, sleep work!

Life has become fairly busy but pretty fun. Training in the mornings then afternoon/evening free. Tomorrow is traditions which i'm excited for but still not sure what i'm going to wear. BAH!! I think that's the hardest part- choosing what to wear.
Last night we went to the formal that was thrown for the CPS... it was a lot of fun. The theme was black/white- EVIL! So a lot of the villains were there. I got a couple photos. But the lineups were super long for the characters so I sadly did not get them all. After that went to a friends room and hung out there for a bit. Most days are pretty chill so far. Found out OFFICIALLY that i'll be working at Magic Kingdom which I do not mind at all!!!!
Below is a picture of me and Cinderella's evil step mother. The character was so great. Her and Cruella were definitaly the best two of the night.

I"M HERE! I"M HERE! I"M HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, that's right I've arrived safely in Orlando, Florida and have successfully checked in at Vista way. I'm living in Vista way which is exciting because 2 of my friends are here as well. Alot of the Western people are over at chatamn or patterson I believe. Alex^2 and I went to Wal-Mart got basic things some food, some towels. However, I did forget to get a blanket for my bed but luckily we were planning a trip over there tomorrow anyway so I'll get it then and tonight I shall just sleep under a beach towel I bought.
I've met two of my roomates so far Melissa and Julia. They both seem super nice still learning more about them. 2 other roomates have moved in but I have yet to meet them and our 6th and final roomate has yet to move in.
I should go be friendly by for now from Sunny Florida!

36.5 hours! I am soooo excited. It's such an amazingly great feeling. I've packed both of my suitcases which is rather fantastic- as I LOVE LOVE LOVE packing. Granted this packing was a tad bit overwhelming just because of how long I'm going to be away as well I tend to be a slight over packer. But I managed to get it all in! I still have to pack my carry on but that's easier as it's just my electronics, a spare outfit and some books.
I also made my shirt yesterday! It looks soo good. I'm really really happy with it. I'll upload pics of it soon but I'm a tad bit lazy right now. Although I can't share pics with you right now I will share this video that i've been OBSESSED with for several months now.

My friend who lives in Florida who was visiting Disney today left this on my facebook wall.
BAH! It makes me so excited. I also think it's awesome she left a picture of Toy Story 3 characters as it is one of my FAVOURITES!!!! It's magical how she knew.

Greetings from your almost new home for the summer. =] (ps... It's freakin hot today.)

So today I went out and got a hair cut! It was really sad because normally I go in an tell the hairdresser to do whatever. I really trust the guy I go to and he tends to do a fantastic job, but he likes to do trendy more modern fun hair styles. I told him I had to keep it traditional and kind of boring this time so he can't do anything fun. Basically he just gave it a bit of a trim. But I promised him when I came back in August he'll have lots of hair to chop off and do something funky with.
I also went to Shoppers this morning and spent WAYYYYY too much money for Disney stuff. I bought
Body Wash
Hand Soap (i'm picky about smells)
Shampoo
Razors
Tooth Brush
Tooth Paste
Loofa
Sun Screen
"feminine hygenie" things
Midol
Motrin
Claritin
Deoderant
- you wouldn't believe how much that little amount of stuff cost (I'll give you a hint.. over $100!).
Bah I hate spending money but I need all those things so I guess it's okay. Better now then down in the states. So I don't have to bring quite as much money with me.
I also went to chapters and got the newest Jodi Piccoult book- it's about a music therapist I'm really excited to read it. And I also got starbucks (Raspberrry Passion Tea Lemonade) YUMMY!

So for the week before I head to Disney since exams are over I think I may just read old blogs and prep myself for the fun and adventure I'm about to embark on. So keep any eye over there >>>>>>> For new links all the time. Hopefully I'll finally make it through my big long list. If I find any ones that reall "speak" to me I'll write a short blog about them.
As well I found out from someone who works at the Disney Store year round where I'm going to be located but for now I think I'll keep that a secret and not tell anyone (other than ICPs going down with me).
I'm starting to get excited about going down... this is the first time I've felt truly super excited. I think it's becuase it's all I have to focus on now- no exams, no essays just DISNEY!
Tomorrow I'm heading to Shoppers (pharmacy type place like Walgreens etc) to get all the soap and shampoo type things I'll need so that'll be really exciting for me. On Wednesday I'm picking up my old trading pins from my dads house, as well as a second suitcase to bring down with me. My mom has suitcases but just not the sizes I want- I want one that is the size between medium and small and my dad says he has one so hopefully it's the size I want. If not and it's pretty I'll use it anyways.
Today I also voted for the first time!!! I did advance voting since I'll be away on May 2nd. It was really fun and I'm really glad I did it. (go vote if you haven't already!!!)

So I kind of stink at this whole blogging thing. I got my Disney welcome package a little over a week ago. It actually wasn't as exciting as I thought it be/as everyone had made it out to be. As well I'm excited for Disney but I almost feel like I'm not excited enough. Perhaps this is because I have one exam still to go. I write this monday (Easter Monday) and right now am a little bit down in the dumps. This is the first Easter that I haven't spent at home. My family is by no means religious so it's not like Easter actually means a lot to me but rather just the time with family, special dinners etc is all very nice and I miss it. I'm at my house in London all alone- seriously ALONE! my two roomates who are going to live here next year are gone home for Easter the other 4 have moved out their stuff (or most of it) and are away on adventures.
I don't mind having a large house to myself, i'm used to it as I grew up in a large house and spent plenty of time home alone. As well it's really great for studying but I'm just not feeling motivated to study, pack or anything. Tomorrow will be my busy day as my exam is at 9 am on Monday and my dad is picking me up right after so I'll have to have all my stuff ready to go meaning tomorrow I need to make sure that nothing is going to die or grow in my room, and that I can safely leave it for four moths. It's crazy I'm leaving my house for 1/3 of the year!!!! 1/4 of my year will be spent in FLORIDA! It's a really crazy thought when I say it like that.
Below I have my packing list for all those going or looking to go I wish I'd found one somewhere that wasn't all about dresses and could be tailored to a guy or girl. Keep in mind I lounge in PJs and sweats a lot, I don't wear dresses or skirts, I love jeans even in the summer, and I don't own a lot of shorts.
So my packing list as I have it now (most of which is packed is).
2 jeans
2 sweatpants
2 pj pants
1 dress pant
12 socks - may have to buy some while i'm down based on uniform and such
undierwear (20+) - you can never have enough!!
2 bathing suit bottoms
1 bathing suit top
2 sports bras
all my regular bras
6 shorts
2 long sleeve shirts
camp hoodie (pull over hoodie)
marching band hoodie (zip up hoodie)
Marching band jacket (wind breaker/light jacket)
9 t shirts
black shoes
white shoes
dress shoes
2 flip flops
12 tank tops / undershirts
1 hat
2 dress shirts
2 fancy but not dress/yet disney appropriate shirts

A week ago today
I still can't beleive that a week ago today I was sitting in a hotel conference room hearing a presentation about the ICP program from Jeni, and Shandon. I was sooo nervous and was pretty sure my Disney dreams weren't going to come true.
However, I am constantly having to remind myself that I got the job and in a little under 2 months I'll be working for the mouse!!! I also have to remind myself that school is still going on.
I have soo much work to do I feel like it's never ending- annotated bibliographies, music theory analysis, quizzes, midterms, papers, exams, projects. Sometimes it's gotten to be tooo much and I get super stressed and don't know if I can continue with this school stuff. But I remind myself DISNEY is just around the corner!!! A few more weeks and i'll be in DISNEY!!!
Hope Ya'll are doing well.

Let's go FLY a kite !
So I booked my flight to Disney! I'm so scared and excited all at the same time. I was doubling geussing getting a flight now as I always do because prices of flights rise and fall so much I don't want to wait and pay an arm and a leg but at the same time by not waiting I'm outta luck if there's a cheaper flight later. But I'm going to try not to think about that. I got my ticket and that's all that matters. I leave May 1st at 925 AM! Which means I'll have to leave my house in LaSalle by like 430/5 to make sure I can get my Visa stuff done at the border and what not as well as accounting for bad traffic, airport lines and what have you.
SOOO EXCITING!
However, this excitment is kicking me in the butt, I have so much work to do but all I can think about is Disney.

*Drum Roll Please*
So I definitaly wrote that last post down there V after I knew whether or not I had the job. I just felt it was an integral part of the blog to have that post.
But I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come first week of may I'll be wearing this snazzy outfit

I also found a lovely list circa '98 from this man about why custodial is such a great job- I think I'll share.
10. Sunshine
9. Babe watching
8. You never have a short cash drawer
7. A great tan
6. No need to repeat a script ad nauseum ("Please move all the way to the center of the theater, to allow room for everyone", "Please step away from the monorail door", "Do you want fries and a milkshake with your Pinocchio burger?, "Please do not sit on the lean rails", "Move to the center and remain away from the walls", "Please remember that flash photography is prohibited during the presentation").
5. Guests never ask you to do exchanges.
4. Every time a guest comments about how clean the park is, they are acknowledging your work. 3. You get to see the parade and fireworks whenever you want, even while working.
2. You go to sleep every night knowing you helped the Earth by recycling.
1. You are paid to get a great tan, while smiling, answering guest inquiries, recycling and babe watching.
Sounds perfect!

Face to Face
So I had my face to face on Monday at it was really nerve wracking. What makes me even more nervous are watching these posts on the facebook group. I really want character attendant and tried to convince the person interviewing me (Jeni) of this. But according to the facebook group there is only one character attendant position available.
I was the 3rd person to go, which I thought was very odd as the people from PEI, Manitoba, B.C etc were the ones who were suppose to go first. I got asked mostly about my favourite position ever (like that I've previously held). Why it was my favourite. What would i do if a parent was upset their child couldn't see such and such a character.
I was done by like 11 went to Via hung out with some of the other Westerners, went to Jack Astors, went back and just hung at the hotel we were being interviewed at then Dinner at East Side Marios.
All n all a good experience and I'm glad I had it.
