Got my Face to Face

So I found out today that I got my face to face Disney interview. Yes I realize I missed the post with my phone interview but iterally like less than 24 hrs after the phone interview I flew out to work at a camp in Seattle, WA. And have been there since. I'm now back to good ole Canada working again (yay first shift today 11hrs! good practice for Disney).
Anywhos so I called my ma and woke her up at 1230.. i know not nice but she had to be one of the first people I called after all she supports me 110%. I also texted my friend AMNA or stitch she's over there somewhere -----> Cuz well it was news i knew she'd excited to hear.

For any of ya'll who are wondering what that letter looks like-
Thanks so much for taking the time in the recent telephone interviews for the Walt Disney World Summer Program.

It was an absolute pleasure speaking with you and getting to learn a bit more about yourself and your reasons for wishing to work at Walt Disney World. I was impressed by the enthusiasm and personality that you had for this program and would be delighted to invite you to the final interviews for the Summer Program 2011!

Currently we are still working with Walt Disney World to verify the exact locations and the time frames of when we will be holding the final interviews, however they will be held in early 2011. I will be contacting you in January with more information about the interview locations as well as cities we anticipate to interview in.

Along with the interview city information, I will also be inviting you to submit your email address to share with others interviewing, so please do keep an eye on your emails throughout this fall and if your contact information changes please do inform me.

Once again, congratulations on reaching this stage of the recruitment process and I very much look forward to contacting you with more information in January 2011!

Have a Magical Day,

I also turn 19 in a week. Which is legal drinking age in Canada so it's a big celebration. I'm just floating on cloud nine right now. Life is GREAT!

I'm BACK

Wow so it's been a little while but I've been reading and enjoying writing on some forums and boards.
However I finally have another blog update for you and hopefully will have a couple more today.

So far today I have read Katie's Blog. She did ICP 2009. She updates quite often during her visit and has many links and pages to look at on her blog on different aspects of getting ready and apart of the ICP program. It's worth a read but please note she does continue to blog on non-Disney stuff after her ICP placement.

***** EDIT!*****

So I am now two vlogs down and have edited my side blog listing >>>>>> Making it easier (hopefully) For you to find what you want.

So this is Kim's blog, she is going to be in CRP this year (hasn't started yet) So mostly it's just videos leading up to it currently. But still fun to watch.

And this is Gazza554 he's a 3rd time hopeful. So let's all give him some encouraging words and hopefully this time he'll make it into the CRP. And if not I'm sure he'll keep trying. Doesn't Disney have to care about the amount of time someone tries?!?

So http://www.youtube.com/user/thegirl424 only had one vlog when she first go accepted about a minute long... I think she just forgot to update or whatever the case may be. So for the first time I'm choosing not to put it over in my links as there's not much to it.

And the next one is done because as I got to the very first post I learned she didn't make it and never tried to get in again.

Girl Meets Mouse

So I had a dream about Disney last night... and the night before, and the one before. Ya- applying to Disney is an all consuming thing. I haven't read tooo many blogs lately, which is actually rather sad but I've been working on one.

Her name is Brynna and this is her THIRD! time working at Disney. Her blog discusses all 3 times she's worked at Disney which is great, there haven't been alot of updates lately but still good and hopefully they'll be more soon.

Hope ya'll are having a MAGICAL day.

***EDIT***

Just watched my first Disney VLOG. Here it is. By a girl named Michelle, mostly just some random videos of fireworks or stitch dancing. Only one of her talking since she got there but it talks a bit about her journey to working for the mouse and has a house tour on it. So definitaly worth a look.

Possible Jobs I want and A bit more about ME!

So I haven't even applied yet and I'm already thinking about what job I want. So far I've read about people working in the country pavilions in Epcot as food and beverage workers. As well as a Custodial person (Ben), food and beverage people for the resorts and life guarding.

Now I know I DO NOT want to do life guarding. I love swimming and all but no- no life guarding for me not qualified and not comfortable in a life-saving position. If I was I'd be going to med-school to become a doctor.

I was strongly considering food and beverage as you get a wide variety of jobs all mashed into one which I think is VERY cool. As well from my trips to Disney I actually remember seeing those positions alot where as I can't remember (granted I was in grade 4 last time I went) seeing people at rides or cleaning up.

However, Ben makes custodial sound soo much fun and not as bad as people would imagine it. So now it's in the top 2 of my job wants when I get to WDW.

Well I'm blogging I might as well blog about the rest of my life so you can get to know me a bit better. I just spend the week home (Windsor, Ontario area) and spend alot of time with two fabulous people, which made coming home (London, Ontario area) very hard as did the look my puppies gave me when they saw my bags and me heading out the door.

Sadly it doesn't look like I'll be home until the end of July because I have alot of minor events around town that I want to attend as well I am babysitting attempting to save up money. I have to save up money for a 4 day retreat I'm going to in Ottawa, Ontario called Project Acorn which is a leadership retreat for people within the Queer community ages 16-24. (P.S. in case you didn't notice I don't know how to do alot of stuff in HTML but I do know how to do links that appear as words. They make me feel special so I do them as often as possible). But anyways I digress. I have to save money for that as well as I'm off to Seattle for the month of August for Camp Ten Trees where I will work as Junior Staff. It's a camp for children in the queer community. And is my second home and I can't imagine a summer without it!

I hope that when I work in Disney next year I'll be able to fenagle things so I don't have to miss camp next summer, because choosing between the two is just to hard.

I'm soo excited for the next couple months but sad I won't really be able to go home. But if the horse won't go to the water bring the water to the horse- which is why I'm excited for the end of June as the "water" so to speak aka my friends I spent the last week with are coming to visit! I haven't had friends visit me since I moved up. Which is really sad but most of my friends went to University themselves or are in grade 12 so neither can come visit that much, but that's why there's SUMMER! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Summer.

But I think I may close this blog with a warning that my grammar sucks as does my spelling but I don't really care about either. My blog is readable which is all that really matters and I'm bringing you as much Disney Excitement as I can.

More bloggins

I'm in a big blog craze right now. And since I'm on a train heading back home it's the perfect time to check out new blogs. I've actually found some ones of people who are currently there or will be in the next month or so.

The first is Laura . She's doing the college program... non-international as she is from the states. She actually just started at Disney yesterday but hopefully she'll keep us all up to date on her happenings and adventures.

**** EDIT/ADDITION **** This is actually whre I found out about Laura. Her name is Emily and she's from Seattle, WA (YAY! anyone who knows me knows why I love Seattle!). She seems very excited and updates fairy good amount. She too as yet to start but will be working at DLR.

As well my friend Paige/Fishing Rod/Charlie hooked me up with this great website ,that is for both people going to visit Disney, people considering working there, people who have or are currently workig there. Everything you name it. As well not just about WDW but also DL.

****EDIT****

Anyone who is doing the ICP program or is interested in working at Disney as a lifeguard must read this blog. It is seperated into 3 different parts before Disney, Lifeguarding and Adventures. I've only gotten through the first two parts. However, I must say it is a little upsetting towards the end of her lifeguard blog because of her attitude towards Disney and her overall feelings. But it is definitaly worth a read. Enjoy!

*****3rd Edit*****
So this is one of my favourite blogs yet. Ben's blog is all about his 3 months working for the mouse as a custodian. He too like many others is from the UK. I think blogging must be big in the UK because most(not all) the Disney blogs I've found thus far are from people in the UK. But Ben's blog as also led me to a new idea which I will post in a blog of it's own.

Timitu's Blog

Remember that saying if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all?? Well I'm trying really hard to focus on the good of this blog but something just set me off. I guess I just compare all blogs to my friend Stitches and throughout it even when she had a bad day she didn't say it.

This next one I believe just ran into some bad luck medically and throgh her managers and stuff. She seemed to have a pretty good attitude most of the time. And update pretty often. Although about 5 months before she was done she stopped posting. I'm not sure why. I have a couple theories but will let you develop your own. But here is Timitu's Blog . She like the previous one is a Canadian who did the year long CRP. I would of loved to read the rest of her blog. As well she has some really sweet animations and such she did herself up there. Like I'm really impressed by them and slightly jealous I don't have that talent.

I'm hoping to find some more blogs by some IPs but have yet to find any. So if anyone out there in blog world has any suggestions of blogs let me know.

Oh and by the way I literally sit and read from the very first blog post to the very last word on the last post of every blog before posting them as to not judge based on a couple bad or really good days and get an overall sense of this person (as much as you can from a blog that is).

Lisa the Pirate

I am continually searching for new blogs. I found this one by a fellow Canadian. She did the Cultural Representative Program (CRP) Like Teri from the UK. This is LISA! . Her blog actually stops when she went to Disney. I think it was just because of the lack of time and crap internet. But it does talk a little about preparing for her trip.

I've decided that whether they blog often or not I'm still going to put their blog on the side links because they did try and every little bit helps.

Also this one imparticular got me thinking. Maybe I want to take a year off between my Undergraduate Degree and my Masters or Teacher's College. Maybe I'll spend that year at Disney :) That could be a good use of my time!

UK Representative Blog

I just sent my day reading a blog and napping. The woman who wrote this is another avid Peter Pan fan just as I am. That was one of the main reasons I was drawn to it. So here is my review of Tori's Blog

She has previously worked on The Wonder which is a Disney cruise ship. In this blog she is working at the UK pavillion for the 1 year program. So it was nice having a different perspective of how it can be to work the WDW (Walt Disney World). She definitaly had her ups and downs with it but overall enjoyed her experience. I would of liked to see her post a little more. She posted maybe 2 or 3 times a month so in each post she'd try and recap what had happened since the previous post and that can be very hard. It didn't necessarily give an overall view of the program and emotions and such.

I definitally recommend looking at it if you are considering the one year representative program.
Hope you enjoy!

Sitches Blog!

Okay so I don't have alot of Disney news. I've been pretty busy visiting home (Windsor area- thing the part of Canada that is SOUTH of Detroit- I know weird!). But anyways I'm going to start posting links over there -----> to blogs I felt really helped me understand and get pumped about Disney. I am not going to post blogs I have never read and hopefully I'll post ones that I've read all of.

Hence my fisrt link to my friend Stitches Blog! In the blog she refers to herself as Chompy as that was her previous Soph name but when I met her her soph name was Stitch (Soph= Really RAD people who help first year students and plan an AMAZING first week for us).

She talks ALOT about food in her blog which isn't bad but is rather helpful for those of us who won't have a ton of money to spend over there. As well she did the same program I'm hoping to do which is the International Summer Program.. or something like that I believe they call is IP? who knows. I need to freshen up on my lingo.

But it's a really great blog and it was started before she even applied just like mine and goes through everything including her interviews and after Disney life. Which is really rare, alot just start when they start working at Disney and attempt to fill in the past but don't do a good job of it.

One thing I wish she'd done was have a definition list or explain some of her acronyms. So I beleive that hopefully (if I remember) I'll create a definition list over there somewhere ---> for terms non-Disney Workers may not know or whatever the case maybe and when I use something for the first time I'll explain it. Because it wasn't just her blog- actually alot of hers was pretty good only a few things that left me confuzzled for a few minutes but other blogs I've noticed do that as well.
I think that's all I have to say for today. Hope you enjoy Stiches Blog.

It all started with a Dream about a Mouse

So this is my official "I WANT DISNEY!!!!!!!!" blog. I considered working this summer for Disney, however, life happens. So this is a blog talking alll about ma working for Disney dreams. And if I get it my adventures in DISNEY!! But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
I have yet to even apply. I think I'm going to do that before I go to Camp Ten Trees in August.
A little about myself-
My name is Steff! That's me up there in that picture ^^^^. I currently don't have the mohawk but in a week or two I will. And then I'll have it until my Disney interview.
I believe in Peter Pan and fairies. *I do believe in fairies, I DO, I DO* (10 points if you can name which Peter Pan related film that came from.)
I love country music right now. As well as making crafties, watching movies (especially Disney ones).
I write poetry- Slam poetry. Might post some of it up here for your viewing pleasure.
I also hope to post up some VLOGS sometime for ya'll. As well soon I will link you over there -------> . Including my friend AMNA's blog. She's pretty rad. Her blog is kinda long and rambly but amazing never the less! I'm sure mine will get long and rambly too. I may just talk about food less :P
Anything else you wanna know? Just ask.
